Shots in the Dark is anew publication that hopes to enlighten readers with all types of underground and mainstream music. Our focus is mainly based on music that isn’t in focus. And no, we don’t fly off the handle and reproduce hipsterdized onslaughts of mediocre bands who sound good because they have A telecaster or drink Pabst while wearing a sports jacket over a 1988 Westchester Bowling league t-shirt ( Yes, I am firing the first Salvo at Pitchfork; it will be the first of many).

I’ll try to stay away from crazy nonsensical reviews; I love music dearly, but I am a horrible writer when I am emotional. And if I like a song, it is probably because it heightens my emotions, and therefore hinders me from writing any decent and/or value-free review to its name.

I’ll add in other types of mainstream content to keep you interested. Mainstream is still music, and at some point everything starts from the underground. But it is there we will be dwelling, sorting through the drudges of melody and hopefully sift some gold and showcase it for your pleasure. If you want to add anything, feel free. I can’t do all of this by myself!
